God’s beautiful message to you ~His beloved.
Thank Me for the glorious gift of forgiveness. I am your Savior-God, and I alone can give you this blessing. I went to exorbitant expense to procure this gift for you. You receive forgiveness and become My child by receiving Me and believing in My Name. This Name, Jesus, means the Lord saves. To receive this gift of salvation, you need to trust Me as your only Hope—the One who delivers you from all your sins.
There is no condemnation for those who are in Me. I want you to enjoy the wonder of walking through your life as My follower—totally forgiven! The best response to this wondrous gift is to live in gratitude, seeking to please Me above all else. You don’t need to do good things to secure My Love, because it’s already yours. Just let your desire to please Me flow readily out of your grateful heart. Thanking Me frequently will help you stay close to Me, ready to follow wherever I lead. Rejoice, beloved, for through Me the law of the Spirit of Life has set you free!
That genuinely seems difficult. Right? In my 42 year relationship with the Lord, there is one thing I know so very real. Enmity with someone else can do hinder our relationship with the Lord. A number of years ago there was a moment of conflict between a friend and I. Truthfully I cannot even remember what happened, what was said except that she felt as if she had offended me. The next time we were together she handed me an envelope. Inside this envelope was a sticky note and a bandaid.
She had written out the following quote:
Oh the comfort, the inexpressible comfort of feeling safe with a person; having neither to weigh thoughts nor measure words but to pour them all out , just as they are, chaff and grain together, knowing that a faithful hand will take and soft them, keep what is worth keeping, and then, with the breath of kindness, blow the rest away. ~George Eliot
You will have conflict with others at times in your life. For us, I was not offended but in her own mind and heart, she felt there need to make things right. It is a good practice to keep these things current. How many people do you know who are still holding on to something someone did years ago? Not good. It can escalate and detour not only the people involved but everyone around them. The ripple affect can go on for generations.
If there is one thing I know, holding unforgiveness in your heart will rob you of joy, full life and put unnessary distance between you and the Lord. Out of obedience to the Lord, my friend was convicted by the Holy Spirit to not only maintain OUR relationship but her relationship with Him. This sticky note and bandaid has been in the front of my Bible since the day she gave it me. It is a constant reminder of our responsibility in relationships to live right before the Lord when it comes to forgiving.
Romans 12:18 says it this way: “Do all that you can to live in peace with everyone.”
My friend, if you want to walk in the freedom of forgiveness with the Lord then you must not hold unforgiveness in your heart. At the end of every day, I pray this passage of scripture and ask God to bring awareness to anything I have done that day that I need to make right with Him or with someone else. God is good snd loving. He has a beautiful and gentle way of encouraging me to make right snd stay pure before Him. I am the first to confess that I am not perfect. I will fail you. But God forgives snd restores. That I know.
“Search me, O God, and know my heart; test me and know my concerns. See if there is any offensive way in me; lead me in the way everlasting.” Psalm 139:23-24
Lord help us to stay our path and help us to forgive, just as you forgave us!
Be kind to each other, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, just as God through Christ has forgiven you. — Ephesians 4:32o
